ABOUT ALL VERSIONS by Brazilliance:
Being Jobim’s first orchestral effort, this is a recording of historic importance. However, while the second recording from 1960, again with Gnattali but different vocalists, is just as popular as the debut, the third recording seems less known: in 1961, the Sinfonia was the soundtrack for Esse Rio Que Eu Amo featuring Lana Bittencourt and Haroldo de Almeida on lead vocals, arranged and directed by Lyrio Panicali. All three versions are compiled for comparison HERE, featuring Os Cariocas as the only act to be included on all three recordings of the Sinfonia do Rio de Janeiro.

Musica Romantica com Dick Farney (1954)

Continental LPP 02

Famous Brazilian jazz pianist Dick Farney  has finally his premiere on Parallel Realities with his first career album, a 10′ LP, out of many.
You may ask why he was not featured earlier…
The answer is simple: Because all of his recordings in my collection have been downloaded from other sites.
Now, as this is a transfer by Pedro, all such considerations are pushed aside.

Enjoy Dick Farney‘s romantic tracks:

Lado A (com Orquestra):

1. Você Se Lembra (Haroldo Eiras / Victor Berbara) Samba
2. Canção do Mar (Bruno Marnet) Toada
3. Grande Verdade (Billy Blanco) Samba
4. Outra Vez (Tom Jobim) Samba-canção

Lado B (com L. Pasquet e Sua Orquestra):

5. She’s Funny That Way (N. Moret / R. A. Whiting) Fox-trot
6. These Foolish Things (Eric Maschwitz / Jack Strachey / Harry Link) Fox-trot
7. How Deep Is The Ocean (Irving Berlin) Fox-trot
8. You Go To My Head (Haven Gillespie / John Frederick Coots) Fox-trot

P.S. On side B Dick Farney is accompanied by the orchestra led by Maestro L. Pasquet about whom I could not find any reference.

MORE INFORMATION by Fausto Neves:
On the Lp 12″ Meia-Noite Em Copacabana Com Dick Farney (1956), the Disco has, on the B side track 06 – Toada Amor – Luiz Bonfa and Luiz Pasquet,

I found the info Luis Pasquet (1917 -) born in Salto, Uruguay musician, composer of tangos. He also recorded with the brazilians Joel e Gaucho

I understand that the Uruguayan Luis Pasquet is the same Luis Pasquet, as a musician. And in Castilian or Spanish is not usual a z letter in the name Luis.

Roberto Corte Real, on the back cover, was a Brazilian expert in Jazz, which in the 1960s was a director of EMI-ODEON and CBS in Brazil. The producer Jose Scatena came to have an important recording studio also in 1960s

Norma Вengell – The Six Tracks (1964)

Parallel Realities Studio 2013

One more Norma Вengell re-post, this time from this site.

A long time ago I found in another reality a compacto duplo by Norma Вengell and posted it here. But, there was something wrong with it: Although it’s title was Six Tracks, the compacto duplo contained only 5 compositions…

Also the cover was not good enough. I was in a hurry at that time, so I decided to search through other realities existing parallel to ours, some other time at leisure, in order to find the correct version, preferably in better cover.

I have done so today. Indeed I found a reality in which the correct version exists. As promised, it contains six tracks, but on a 10 Inch, not a compacto duplo. The period this compilation of songs, not released on Norma’s career albums or official compactos, is the same: From 1960 to 1964. As I found out, this 10 Inch was released in 1964.

The six tracks are:

1. Apresentação Norma ВengellRonaldo Bôscoli – Ao Vivo 1960 Faculdade de Arquitetura
2. Não Faz Assim (Oscar Сastro Neves / Ronaldo Bôscoli) -Ao Vivo 1960 Faculdade de Arquitetura
3. Сoração (Riсhard Adler / Jerrу Ross / Vrs. Romeo Nunes) 1960 78 Rpm
4. Tristeza (Luiz Вonfa / Maria Нelena Toledo) 1962 Сoрaсabana Рallaсe Soundtrack
5. Voсê (Roberto Menesсal / Ronaldo Bôscoli) 1964 com Diсk Farneу
6. Vou Рor Aí (Вaden Рowell / Aloуsio de Oliveira) 1964 com Diсk Farneу

NORMA FROM THE OTHER REALITY

Norma Bengell – 6 Tracks – Compacto Duplo (1964. parallel reality)

There are a few tracks by Norma Bengell that are published either as her participation at a concert, soundtrack or guest vocal with Dick Farney, spanning from 1960 to 1964.
They can be collected by downloading 3 different albums from Loronix
There is a parallel reality though, in which a producer had the brilliant idea to compile these 4 tracks together with the announcement for the second track into a compacto duplo and to publish them (end of 1964)…
So this compacto duplo, containing 4 tracks and one announcement, was sent to the record stores a few days ahead of New Year’s Eve 1965 in this particular reality, under a misleading name: 6 Tracks:
.
1. Apresentacao Norma Bengel – 1960 Faculdade de Arquitetura
2. Nao Faz Assim – 1960 Faculdade de Arquitetura
3. Tristeza – 1962 Copacabana Pallace Soundtrack
4. Voce – 1964 com Dick Farney
5. Vou Por Ai – 1964 com Dick Farney
