Lucio Alves – Tio Samba (1961)

Philips P 630.471 L

One more career album by Lúcio Alves successfully passed the copyright test and has been uploaded for all interested.

Lúcio Alves interpretations of US hits sung in Portuguese were later clearly identified as meddling in the United States elections in favor of candidate John F. Kennedy.

Fake news and leaked compromised mails of Richard Nixon (who lost the elections) orchestrated under the musical direction of Carlos Monteiro de Souza:

Lucio Alves – Cantando depois do Sol (1961)

Philips  P 630.440 L

Although most music by romantic singer Lúcio Alves has been already presented on Loronix a decade ago, an attempt to post it now is not that easy as in the meantime most of his recordings got copyright protected and Depositfiles‘ magic copyright check identifies & deletes them immediately after upload. Still, I managed so far to upload two of his albums which show no signs of digital fingerprints.
Anyway, this does not mean that sooner or later they will not be also copyrighted and removed from server.

The morale of the text above is:

Be quick today or tomorrow you may find the absurd DOWNLOAD YESTERDAY advice instead of a working link.

This is, by the way, a premiere of a Lúcio Alves career album on Parallel Realities.

Accompanied by orchestra under the direction of Carlos Monteiro de Souza, he sings:

01. Emília (Wilson Batista / Haroldo Lobo)
02. Tema Sem Fim (Lúcio Alves)
03. Madrugada 3:05 (Ismael Netto / Antônio Maria/Reinaldo Dias Leme)
04. E Nem Sei do Amor (João Mello)
05. Verdadeiro Amor (Gilvan Chaves)
06. Esperei (Daisy Amaral)
07. Festa de Luz (Bidú Reis / Murillo Latini)
08. Lamento No Morro (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
09. Rio à Noite (Renato Amorim / Sergio Gomes)
10. Minha Palhoça (J. Cascata)
11. Alfa e Ômega (João Mello / Baden Powell)
12. Poema da Chuva (Claribalte Passos)

THE MILITARY DICTATORSHIP by Nilton Maia:
In that year (1968), the military dictatorship began to show its most horrifying face and the restrictions to the arts were wide, including the Popular Music, of course. But, as a paradox, it was a very rich musical period.
Concerning the track O General e o Muro, I’m quite sure that it was forbidden by the censorship authorities. Because of this, the music name is present on the cover of the album but absent from the record.

ORQUESTRAÇÕES DE RADAMÉS GNATTALI

ABOUT ALL VERSIONS by Brazilliance:
Being Jobim’s first orchestral effort, this is a recording of historic importance. However, while the second recording from 1960, again with Gnattali but different vocalists, is just as popular as the debut, the third recording seems less known: in 1961, the Sinfonia was the soundtrack for Esse Rio Que Eu Amo featuring Lana Bittencourt and Haroldo de Almeida on lead vocals, arranged and directed by Lyrio Panicali. All three versions are compiled for comparison HERE, featuring Os Cariocas as the only act to be included on all three recordings of the Sinfonia do Rio de Janeiro.

Diversos – Voce E O Artista (1960)

Philips P 630.429 L

Something out of the usual: A Karaoquê LP created by Philips back in 1960! The songs are sung on the first track by the appropriate artist (with a few words by them presenting themselves, the composition etc), then on the next track goes the same music but without vocals, prepared for you to sing it and compare your voice to the renowned artist…

Also the texts are printed out on the back cover, so you don’t have to memorise it (in case the song is unknown to you).

Sing along with the singers or sing alone, accompanied by the musicians only, the songs:

01. Tome Continha de Você (Dolores Duran / Edson Borges) Sônia Delfino
02. Tome Continha de Você (Dolores Duran / Edson Borges) Para Você Cantar

03. Chora Tua Tristeza (Oscar Castro Neves / Luvercy Fiorini) Сarlos Lуra
04. Chora Tua Tristeza (Oscar Castro Neves / Luvercy Fiorini) Para Você Cantar

05. Patinho Feio (Oscar Castro Neves / Dolores Duran) Laís

Avant Premiere Odeon Vol.1

Odeon PON-01

After the previous album I planned to post (I won’t say which one) was completely rejected by Depositfiles, I was almost absolutely sure that similar will happen with this Various Artists Avant Premiere by Odeon.

Not happy about being right, I checked the files one by one to identify the Polar Bears hidden in the zip.

Unfortunatelly there were three of them and all three were removed from the zip.

The 9 out of 12 tracks that can be enjoyed after download are not marked in red:

01. Quero Beijar-te As Mãos (Arcenio de Carvalho / Lourival Falssal) Anisio Silva (removed from zip)
