Conjunto de Vadinho-Scarambone – Fim de Festa em Hi-fi (1961)

Carroussell SELP 3006

Although this album completes the collection of career albums by all so far listed Scarambone brothers, experience has taught me that surprises are possible and that, out of the blue, a previously unknown fourth brother might appear, or an unlisted album.

Anyway, this one is labelled as a collaboration of equals: Vadinho and José Scarambone, whose portraits decorate the back cover, containing also a text written by Aurélio de Abreu.

The full list of musicians goes as follows:

José Scarambone (Piano, Solovox)

Carlos Shultz (Bateria)
Ancelmo (Acordeom),
Carmelo Scarambone (Sax tenor)

Scarambone e Seu Conjunto – Orgao Dancante (1960)

RCA Victor BBL 1089

Fortunately, in the current package Pedro & 300discos have included also a third album by Scarambone, by coincidence in a chronological manner. It is his third career album released in 1960 on which the participants are:

Francisco Scarambone (Órgão)
Baden Powell (Guitarra)
Del Loro (Violão
Marinho (Contrabaixo)
José Scarambone (Vibrafone)
Barão (Bateria nos foxes e boleros)
Plinio (Bateria nos sambas)
Gilberto (Pandeiro, Maraca)
Celso (Caixeta)

Note that there are two drummers, Barão who is obviously specialized in fox and bolero rhythms and he is performing on the appropriate fox and bolero tracks, while Plinio is playing drums on the samba tracks.

We have here two different artists, the main artist here is Francisco Scarambone, the brother of Jose, who is the main artist on the two earlier albums.

Piano, vibraphone player and composer José Scarambone for the first time on Parallel Realities with his first career album out of altogether five and lots of 78 rpms, all recorded in the period from 1939 to 1961.

The back cover shows a detailed text about Scarambone‘s life, education and career written by Elmo Barros and I strongly suggest reading it.

I also suggest to hear his rendition of these tracks:

01. Exaltação à Bahia (Vicente Paiva / Chianca de Garcia)
