This album was re-posted several years ago from Loronix into another parallel reality, together with other recordings by Elizeth Cardoso.
In the meantime almost all of Elizeth‘s albums are copyright protected and most links have been automatically deleted by Depostifiles magic digital fingerprinting technology. As I am writing this I am checking those links that seem to have simply expired and those that can legally be published here I will publish.
So far it looks like this list will be short and there should be no doubt that it will be shorter and shorter in the future, so I suggest to download all you can immediately as tomorrow you will probably presented with the DOWNLOAD YESTERDAY advice.

Jose Mauro – Obnoxius (1970)

Quartin LP RSQ 1

About José Mauro, presented for the first time on Parallel Realities with the first of his two career albums, I can not tell you much more than you may read on the back cover.

You may, first of all, find the list of participants which is full of renowned, well known names:

Maurílio: Trompete
Paulo Moura: Sax alto
Altamiro Carrilho: Flauta
Rildo Hora: Gaita
Dom Salvador: Órgão, Piano, Cravo
Geraldo Vespar: Guitarra
José Mauro: Violão
Sebastião Marinho: Baixo
Juquinha e Mamão: Percussão
Wilson das Neves: Bateria
Naipe de Corda de Roberto Quartin
Arranjos e Regências: Gaya
Produção e Direção: Roberto Quartin

Also, you may find the list of tracks, all of them composed by José Mauro and Ana Maria Bahiana:

01. Obnóxius (José Mauro / Ana Maria Bahiana)
02. Tarde de Núpcias (José Mauro / Ana Maria Bahiana)
03. Memória (José Mauro / Ana Maria Bahiana)
04. Ponte de Chamada (José Mauro / Ana Maria Bahiana)
05. As Aventuras Sentimentais de Espiroqueta Camargo (José Mauro / Ana Maria Bahiana)
06. Talismã (José Mauro / Ana Maria Bahiana)
07. Arraial da Lua Cheia (José Mauro / Ana Maria Bahiana)
08. Ancoradouro (José Mauro / Ana Maria Bahiana)
09. Canção da Casa Iluminada (José Mauro / Ana Maria Bahiana)
10. Apocalipse (José Mauro / Ana Maria Bahiana)
11. Exaltação e Lamento do Último Rei (José Mauro / Ana Maria Bahiana)

On the other hand, you will not find an explicit statement about who is singing, although, as far as the male voice is concerned, it is clear that it must be José Mauro. For the female voice occasionally featured on some tracks, my guess is that it is probably Ana Maria Bahiana who is also suspected of being the girl standing next to José Mauro on the front cover photograph.

As expected you will find a meaningless text, which is leading to the album:

COMMENTS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION by Nilton Antonio Rodreigues Maia:

Concerning the music authors, José Mauro (melodies) and Ana Maria Bahiana (lyrics):

José has rare references. In contrast, Ana Maria is one of our best music journalists:

ANA MARIA BAHIANA (Ana Maria Pereira Bahiana) was born in 1950, in Rio de Janeiro. She lives in Los Angeles (USA).
She is a journalist and writer. Her specialities are Cinema and Popular Music. She has a career of more than 30 years and she wrote six books about Culture and Popular Music.
Presently, she works as Cinema reviewer of “Just Seen It” program (PBS television network) and has a UOL blog about Culture.

About the photo in the cover, I believe you are right.

I have confirmed in the blog SOUL ART that the singer is José Mauro.
But the female voice remains a mystery. Although Ana Maria isn’t a singer, perhaps she could be the female voice in LP.
I’ll try to contact her to clarify this point.
In the post comments, I had the good surprise to know José Mauro was alive at that date- 4/30/2014 – and living in Rio de Janeiro. The comment was posted by José Mauro‘s brother named Marcelo.

The G/9 Group – Brazil Now (1968)

Sonorama L-06 (2005)

The promised album by The G/9 Group has just arrived from Moscow, so after the discussion about if it is the same Valéria, who is singing on Steve Bernard‘s Top Hit Party the one singing here, I have finally had the chance to compare.

Honestly speaking, just by listening I can neither claim that it is the same Valéria, nor that it is another singer with a similar name.
From 1960 to 1968 the Zeitgeist has deeply changed and the change affected all musical aspect including ways of singing, not to mention ageing ladies’ voices.

Anyway, here is a recording strongly representing the spirit of ’68, created by:

Arranged By – Maestro Pachequinho

Vocals – Edgardo, Joab, Valéria, Zezé
Double Bass – Sergio
Drums – Wilson  das Neves
Guitar – Neco
Mastered By – Jury Lutz
Percussion – Pedro
Piano – Dom Salvador

Producer – Henrique Gandelman
Producer (Assistant) – Clovis Mello

Containing these compositions:

01. P’ra Que Chorar (I’ll Take A Chance) (Baden Powell / N. Gimbel / Vinicius De Moraes)
02. Vesti Azul (Nonato Buzar)
03. Ponteio (Edu Lobo / Capinam)
04. Sambou…Sambou (Alphabet) (João Donato / João Melo / N. Gimbel)
05. Este Seu Olhar (That Look You Wear) (A. C. Jobim / Gene Lees)
06. Viola Enluarada (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
07. Lady Madonna (John Lennon / Paul McCartney)
08. Deixa (Let Me) (Baden Powell / N. Gimbel / Vinicius De Moraes)
09. Alegria, Alegria (Caetano Veloso)
10. Retrato Em Branco E Preto (A. C. Jobim / Chico Buarque De Hollanda)

REVIEW AND + by Bossanov:
It’s really great happy Hammond sound! Slightly similar to Wilson das Neves’ “Juventude 2000” and other dancing music of that time. Almost all of the crew are real “Os Cobras”!
Add some info about Fernando – he is Fernando Jorge Semi Maxnuk (or Maxnuck), member of Zumba Cinco, also working witn Leny Andrade in Rio, Bossa e Balanço show (Mario Castro Neves, piano; Fernando Maxnuk, vibrafone; Edson Lobo, contrabaixo;e Antonio Carlos Leite, bateria) and with Orlandivo.

Giovana – Quem Tem Carinho Me Leva (1975)

RСА Viсtоr 103.0149

The first album by singer and composer Giоvana, featuring music strongly influenced by African roots.
As far as I could find out she has recorded a second career album in 1991 and one compacto in 1976.

Welcome To Sambaland (1973)

Tapecar LPX.16

A first glance at the cover of this album clearly shows that it was released mainly as a welcome to visitors from abroad.

A second glance shows that neither on the front, nor the back cover there is the name of the conjunto, neither the name of the conjunto leader.

A third glance, now on the inside cover displays several photographs of some of Rio’s attractions, and a welcome text in several languages.

The right side of the inside cover gives also the list of all the renowned musicians (12 of them + Coral de Joab) as well as the instruments they are playing. It also shows that  José Menezes has done the arrangements, yet it does not point him out as leader.

On the left side of the inside cover there is a night photograph of Corcovado and a text about Rio signed by Fernando de Araujo Neves.

So who has united these twelve fine musicians? And who it their leader?

Zé Bodega – Saxofone
Maciel – Trombone
Canuto – Pistom
Sergio Barroso – Baixo
José Menezes – Guitarra, Cavaquinho
Jorge Menezes – Violão
Wilson das Neves – Bateria
Hermes Contesini, Hariovaldo Contesini, Walter Filho, Papão e Cláudio Menezes – Ritmo
Coral de Joab

What is beyond any question is that the compositions performed are:

01. Sou do Rio (William Luna / Ararypê)
02. Aquarela do Brasil (Ary Barroso)
03. Rio Carnaval dos Carnavais (Padeirinho / Nilton Russo / Moacir)
04. Ensaio Geral (William Luna)
05. Fantasia Carioca (Alcyr Pires Vermelho / Osvaldo Santiago)
06. Valsa de Uma Cidade (Ismael Netto / Antônio Maria)
07. Brasil Pandeiro (Assis Valente)
08. Bem Carioca (William Luna / Luis Bittencourt)
09. Descendo o Morro (Adpt. José Xavier)
10. Cidade Maravilhosa (André Filho)
