Do MPB-4 para Noel Rosa – Feitico Carioca (1987)

СРЕЋНА НОВА 2017!

Continental 1.01.404.322

Apart from a compacto and a few participations, after all these years I am finally posting a career album by the famous MPB-4.
Almost all of their 30+ albums have been released also on CD (including this one), but contrary to what I thought, it looks like not all are copyright protected as Feitiço Carioca has been successfully uploaded to Depositfiles and so far nothing nasty has happened.
Anyway, take this information with a grain of salt and don’t postpone the download for tomorrow, as tomorrow, instead of a link, you might run into the absurd “DOWNLOAD YESTERDAY” advice.

As you realized immediately, this album is dedicated to Noel Rosa and contains renditions of his compositions:

01. Pierrô Apaixonado (Noel Rosa / Heitor dos Prazeres)
02. Quem Ri Melhor (Noel Rosa)
03. Não Tem Tradução (Noel Rosa)
04. Pela Décima Vez (Noel Rosa)
05. Quem Dá Mais (Noel Rosa)
06. Com Que Roupa (Noel Rosa)
07. Filosofia (Noel Rosa / André Filho)
08. Feitio de Oração (Noel Rosa / Vadico)
09. Conversa de Botequim (Noel Rosa / Vadico)
10. Último Desejo (Noel Rosa)
      Fita Amarela (Noel Rosa)
O Orvalho Vem Caindo (Noel Rosa / Kid Pepe)
      Até Amanhã (Noel Rosa)
Felicidade (Noel Rosa / René Bittencourt)

THE MILITARY DICTATORSHIP by Nilton Maia:
In that year (1968), the military dictatorship began to show its most horrifying face and the restrictions to the arts were wide, including the Popular Music, of course. But, as a paradox, it was a very rich musical period.
Concerning the track O General e o Muro, I’m quite sure that it was forbidden by the censorship authorities. Because of this, the music name is present on the cover of the album but absent from the record.

МРВ-4 – Mix (1987)

Соntinеntаl 1.15.903.025

No need to explain anything about the famous group MРВ-4 as the majority of their large discography has been re-issued on СD.
Their premiere on Parallel Realities is with an unlisted (at least Memória Musical does not mention it) vinyl maxi single released 1987.

Who is playing which instrument (a long list of renowned performers) is specified on the back cover.

The two compositions are:

1. Quem Ri Melhor (Noel Rosa)
2. Um Pierrot Apaixonado (Noel Rosa / Heitor dos Prazeres)

Chico Buarque, Odete Lara e MPB-4 – Noite dos Mascarados – Compacto (1970)

If you think that I posted this compacto by Chico Buarque just because Odete Lara is singing on both tracks, then I must confess that it is indeed the reason. Of course, my opinion of Chico Buarque as a composer is very high. His Carolina sounds perfect in all renditions by any cantora I have heard singing it, while on the other hand the rentition of his Com Açúcar e Com Afeto, but only by Waleska, is in my opinion the most erotic song ever recorded (especially for those who do not understand Portuguese and are not distracted by the text).
Anyway, if you want to listen to Odete singing on this compacto, then you will have to listen to Chico as well…
And if you want to enjoy the original paper bag with a hole in the middle then you will have to download the zip file as the cover displayed above is taken from another reality
