Sylvia Telles Sings Luiz Bonfá (1962. parallel reality)

The quantum physics and philosophical concept of infinite parallel realities is accepted daily by more and more people…
.
Here is an extract from a mail I received several days ago from Edson Mendes:
.
“Regarding the comment made by Frank Oliver about Sylvia’s recordings, I remembered that in my researches I found an article published in an old Brazilian magazine, named O Cruzeiro, that noticed that Silvinha was in studio recording a LP with Luiz Bonfa. The year was 1958.
I thought that for some reason Odeon aborted the original project, as in fact only an EP with four tracks (Tanto amor, De braços lassos, Meu sonho and Perdido de amor) was released, named Luiz Bonfa e Sylvia Telles.
In 2001, EMI released a Sylvia’s CD on Serie Bis that included three tracks (De cigarro em cigarro, Caminho sem fim, Taboleiro) in which the guitar is clearly played by Bonfa, although this is not mentioned in the tracklist. As these tracks are not listed in any Sylvia’s or Bonfa’s discography, I concluded that they were originally recorded for the mentioned LP and never released after this, staying in Odeon’s archives since then.
So, now I am thinking that in another parallel reality maybe this so wanted LP can be published, maybe including some additional tracks with other Bonfa’s compositions sung by Sylvia?”
.
A search through parallel realities, conducted by me, revealed the fact that in one parallel reality of 1962, an obscure label published such an album. The coincidence is even more stunning, considering the fact that the photographs of the cover artwork were published in our branch of infinite realities in the 1958 edition of the O Cruzeiro magazine, that Edson mentioned in his text published above…
.
Inexplicable but true. While meditating about the metaphysical aspects of this story, enjoy the nine track:
.
1. Perdido de amor (Luiz Bonfá)
2. Meu sonho (Luiz Bonfá)
3. De braços lassos (Luiz Bonfá)
4. Tanto amor (Luiz Bonfá – Reynaldo Dias Leme)
5. De cigarro em cigarro (Luiz Bonfá)
6. Caminho sem fim (Luiz Bonfá)
7. Tabuleiro (Luiz Bonfá)
8. Manhã de carnaval (Luiz Bonfá – Antonio Maria)
9. Amor sem adeus (Luiz Bonfá – A. C. Jobim)
.
In our side branch of parallel realities:
.
Tracks 1 – 4 – extracted from “Luiz Bonfá e Sylvia Telles” (1958).
Tracks 5 – 7 – recorded in 1958 and published for the first time on “Serie Bis – Sylvia Telles” (2001).
Tracks 8 – 9 – extracted from “Sylvia U.S.A” (1961).
.
Tracks 1 – 7 – Luiz Bonfá plays the guitar.
Track 8 – Sylvia is accompanied by Barney Kessel and Joe Mondragon.
Track 9 – Sylvia is backed by Calvin Jackson and Al McKibbon.
.
AND YES, READ THE “O CRUZEIRO”. IT IS ILLUSTRATED!

Minha Sylvia (selection by Ademar de Aguiar)

Everybody who visits Parallel Realities knows who Ademar is as well as he knows and enjoys his good deeds in transferring vinyl to mp3. This time all he had to do was to accept my invitation to make his selection of his favorite artist and let me collect the tracks he has chosen, compile them and create a cover…
.
So here is his selection of his favorite artist: Sylvia Telles:
.
Minha Sylvia – seleção – Ademar de Aguiar:

MINHA SYLVIA BY ADEMAR
.
Ademar also included two additional tracks in case that I do not have a track that he has chosen in my collection, but fortunately I have all that Sylvia has ever recorded (at least I think so).
So I thought that it might be a good idea to put those two tracks inside another zip, include a similar cover as the one illustrated above and create a compacto:
.
Tracks:
.
01. Mágoa (Tom Jobim / Marino Pinto)
02. Castigo (Dolores Duran)

Minha Sylvia – Presentation (presented by Edson Mendes)

This is a presentation of Sylvia Telles by Edson Mendes:
.
.
Sylvia Telles was the first Bossa Nova professional singer. Her career is mixed with the trajectory of this important musical movement, since Silvinha was always in its main events and she was the first artist to record an album dedicated only to Jobim’s compositions, the anthological ‘Amor de gente moça’.
Prematurely interrupted by a car accident, her career left us a short but essential discography for the modernization of the Brazilian music occurred in the late fifties and early sixties.
Her cool interpretations – touching or amused – send us to the delicacy time, when the good-taste and elegancy guided the choice of the repertoire and the arrangements.”
.
For the selections, my intention was to mix her most known recordings with others not so much known, as her unique composition “Obrigada, meu bem”, or “Você não sabe amar”, “Caminho sem fim” , “Eu não existo sem você” and “Geração da vitamina”, which were not published in her main discography:
