A Turma do Bom Balanco (1965)

Mocambo LP 40262

While preparing the re-uploads of music by K-Ximbinho, I found inside the “K-Ximbinho” folder on the backup disc on which I stored albums received from Pedro & 300discos also this album together with the text below, prepared for creating a post. As I could not remember that I have posted this album, I checked all my sites and ideed, it is nowhere to be found. Also, it is presented differently than usual, having just the front cover and neither back caver nor label scans.

In short, I do not know:

1. Where this album came from
2. Why, although I have prepared it for posting, I failed to do so
3. Why have I forgotten all about it

It is clear that you can not know the answer to questions 2 and 3, but there is a possibility that you might have the answer to question 1, so if you know where it might be from, please tell me, so I can write it in the credits below the post.

Or just clear the confusion I created with my personal dilemma by relaxing and enjoying:

Jonas Silva – Um Garoto da Lua (1959)

And now something completely different. Instead of writing more about Jonas Silva (except pointing out his playboy moustaches of the Miltinho kind) I am enclosing a text which Edson Mendes sent together with the tracks:
.
Jonas Silva was the crooner of the famous Brazilian vocal group “Garotos da Lua”, during the late forties and early fifties. He was considered a “soft singer”, with a small and cool voice, and due to this, the other “Garotos” were forced to replace him in the group by another singer with a strong voice, and they choose… João Gilberto!
But there is an explanation: at that time João Gilberto wasn’t the “João Gilberto” as we know; his singing style was based on Orlando Silva and Lúcio Alves, his idols and great Brazilian singers of all time.
Besides this fact, Jonas continued working with music, as a singer, record seller and later as the owner of a jazz oriented recording company named “Imagem”.
As a solo singer he recorded only a few records, including two EPs in 1958/1959, so in the very beginning of the Bossa Nova movement, which are very hard to find. These four tracks are from this time and were recorded in a cassette directly from a radio broadcasting in 1990.
Hearing them, we can say that with his small and soft voice, perfect refining and refined rhythmic sense, Jonas Silva had a style of sing very to the front of his time. Maybe due to this, in 1991 João Gilberto decided to homage him, recording his composition “Rosinha” in his acclaimed CD “João”.
Jonas Silva is 80 years old and still works as a musical producer.
.
Tracks:
.
1. Rosinha (Jonas Silva)
2. Complicação (Chico Feitosa – Ronaldo Bôscoli)
3. Rapaz de bem (Johnny Alf
4. A felicidade (A. C. Jobim – Vinícius de Moraes)
.
TO BE JONAS OR NOT TO BE JOAO, THAT IS NOW THE QUESTION…
