REVIEW by Brazilliance:

Featuring her biggest commercial success “Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar”, this is Elza’s debut album after about 30 singles since 1951. Arranged and conducted by Henrique Simonetti, it features the first recordings of Estou Amando Azul, Quando Te Achei and Um Minuto Só as well as the only recordings of Cuidado Coração and Podem Falar.

Formandos de 1966 – Estamos Aí! (1966)

Simonetti Gravações LP-100

A various artists type of recording done for Simonetti Gravações a only one of the kind (at least so i looks to me) venture of Maestro Simonetti as record manufacturer. It was recorded, as far as I understood the Portuguese text on the back cover, as an invitation for a Baile de Formatura taking place on the 9-12-1966 at the Rotary Club de São Paulo. The performers are listed alongside each track while the orchestras accompanying them are led by Zézinho da T.V. and Luiz Arruda Paes.

What Walt Disney‘s crazy inventor was inventing at that time, as well as why he is prominently displayed on the front cover at all (where one would expect Zézinho, Luiz Arruda Paes, both of them, or at least a good looking girl), I don’t know, but sooner or later, the answer will hopefully arrive in form of a comment…

While waiting, enjoy these tracks:

01. Arrastão (Edu Lobo / Vinicius de Moraes) – Carlos Piper
02. Sevilha Mambo (Juan Amadeu) – Arley e Sua Orquestra Melódica
03. Au Privave (Charlie Parker) – Biriba Boys
04. Exodus (Ernest Gold) – Peruzzi e Sua Orquestra
05. Consolação (Baden Powel / Vinicius de Moraes) – Birutas do Ritmo
06. Abre-Te Sézamo (Marques / Molina) – Simonetti Ritmos
07. O Morro Não Tem Vez (A.C.Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes) – Consolação (Baden Powel / Vinicius de Moraes)   –  Terra de Ninguém (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle) – Primitivos Brasileiros
08. The Song is You (Kern / Hammerstein) – Zézinho da TV, Luiz Arruda Paes Coral e Cordas
09. Garota Moderna (Jair Amorim / Evaldo Gouveia) – Orquestra Excelsior

13. Vivo Sonhando (A.C.Jobim) – Três Américas

OBSERVATION by Bossanov: Some days ago at Toque the same LP of Simonetti was published with another cover (good looking girl!!!)

LAMENT by Milan Filipović; Looks like Augusto TM is publishing the good looking girls, while I have Disney’s figures on the front covers.
Too bad! Unfortunately, no chance to ever get the “18+” warning while entering Parallel Realities.
I am strongly considering the opening of another site for mature audience with a prominent ADULTS ONLY – AUSWEIS BITTE! warning on the front page.

Rosa Pardini (1956)

Рolуdor LРN 2013

It is not surprising that a great singer like Rosa Pardini has her premiere on Parallel Realities, as it is common knowledge to all visitors that I love beautiful female voices, especially when recorded in Brasil more than half a century ago, preferably on a 10 Inch.
You are, maybe, wondering why I waited so long to finally post her music, but the answer is simple:
She has recorded only two albums, out of which the LP Eu, o Luar e Você (1958) is featured on Bossa Brasileira, and this 10 Inch was impossible to find up to now. Impossible for me, but not for Pedro

I suggest to turn your lights down low while Rosa is singing these songs, accompanied by the Orquestra Рolуdor under the artistic direction of Maestro Henrique Simonetti:

1. Nunca Jamais (Nunca Jamás) (Lalo Guerrero / Vrs. Nelson Ferreira) Bolero
2. Lembro-me Ainda (Joubert de Carvalho) Valsa
3. Prisioneira (Nazareno de Brito) Bolero
4. Valsa de Uma Cidade (Ismael Netto / Antônio Maria) Valsa
5. Que Será, Será (Whatever Will Вe, Will Вe) (Jaу Livingston / Raу Evans / Vrs. Nadir Corte Real) Bolero
6. Vai (Go) (Saint-Saens / Vrs. Nazareno de Brito) Fox
7. Súpliсa (Donne-moi) (Сharles Aznavour / Gilbert Вéсaud / Vrs. Caribé da Roсha) Bolero
8. Grata Рelas Flores (Grazie Dei Fiori) (Saverio Seraсini / G. Festoni / Vrs. Cauby de Brito) Bolero
