Details about this release and various later versions of it you may read on Órfãos do Loronix where Zecalouro’s text about it all is reprinted.

ORQUESTRAÇÕES DE RADAMÉS GNATTALI

Créditos: Pedro & 300discos

ABOUT ALL VERSIONS by Brazilliance:
Being Jobim’s first orchestral effort, this is a recording of historic importance. However, while the second recording from 1960, again with Gnattali but different vocalists, is just as popular as the debut, the third recording seems less known: in 1961, the Sinfonia was the soundtrack for Esse Rio Que Eu Amo featuring Lana Bittencourt and Haroldo de Almeida on lead vocals, arranged and directed by Lyrio Panicali. All three versions are compiled for comparison HERE, featuring Os Cariocas as the only act to be included on all three recordings of the Sinfonia do Rio de Janeiro.

Dóris Monteiro (1964)

A recent request to post this album by Dóris Monteiro came quite handy as a natural continuation of the previous two posts: Walter Wanderley is accompanying Dóris on this one.

Unfortunately I have no idea where I found this album, so I can not give appropriate credits…

Dóris Monteiro (1961)

Another re post from loronix I am posting because another friend asked me to do so. In fact, as I have not enough time to concetrate on updates, I am willing to post in the next days albums or singles that you would like to see here (providing, of course, that I have them and that they are not available anywhere else). So feel free to voice your wishes…
.
While reflecting what to request, enjoy these compositions from 1961:

Dóris Monteiro – Dóris (1959)

Here is another re post from loronix. This time it is an album by Dóris Monteiro from 1959, about which informations were limited at the time Zeca has posted it. He wrote in the title that it were from 1962, but it looks like it was more a guess than a fact as Memória Musical dates it 1959 and so does Cantoras do Brasil. As I do not believe in the existence of time at all, it is unimportant from my point of view. Of course, a calendar or a clock, however absurd they might be, are essential to keep ut the matrix we are all living in.
.
Illusion or reality, enjoy it:
.
01. Cartão de Visita (Edgardo Luis / Nilton Pereira de Castro)
02. Sonhar (José Maria de Abreu / Jair Amorim)
03. Prelúdio Op 32 (Eduardo Dutra / Victor Dagô)
04. Argumentação (Afonso Chiodi / Lomonaco / Nanai)
05. Domingo Próximo (Alfredo Borba / Édson Borges)
06. Depois de Tanto Esperar (Armando Nunes / Othon Russo)
07. Vem Me Beijar (Erlon Chaves)
08. Uma Só Vez (Caco Velho)
09. Sempre Teu (Fernando César / João Leal Brito ”Britinho”)
10. A Saudade e Você (Fernando César)
11. O Maior Problema (Billy Blanco)
12. Sou Toda Tua (Dolores Duran / Fernando César)

P.S. My friend Augusto, the owner of the mighty Toque Musical blog has invited me to create a compilation of music for his blog which I finished and it is posted on his site. It is an album duplo em 10 polegadas which I named Meu Brasil, consisting of 2 x 8 tracks.
Augusto has been so kind to create a collection of favorite songs by his favorite singer Alaide Costa for me which has been posted some time ago on Parallel Realities: :Minha Alaide – seleção – Augusto TM

Dóris Monteiro – Compacto Duplo (1968)

I have downloaded this compacto duplo by Dóris Monteiro long before I even considered creating my own site. At this time I did not have the habit of writing down the source where I found it. I checked captain crawl if it was available for download a short time ago, but could not find it. I double checked my usual suspects in such cases (loronix, toque etc.) but still could not find it. A short time ago Eduardo Carvalho added it inside a zip with other goodies that he sent to me, not knowing that I already had it.
Anyway, Eduardo‘s transfers are perfect and no sound cleaning filters were applied so it is a different (better) sound than the one I had.
Finally, with a clear conscience I am able to post it here.
.
Enjoy:
.
1. Mudando de Conversa (Maurício Tapajós / Hermínio Bello de Carvalho)
2. Eu e a Brisa (Johnny Alf)
3. Se o Carnaval Acabar (Élton Medeiros / Hermínio Bello de Carvalho / Mauro Duarte)
4. Carolina (Chico Buarque)

Doris Monteiro & Ricardo Jr. – Ao Vivo (2004)

I created two albums with songs performed by Doris Monteiro and Ricardo Jr. in 2004, and posted them both on Parallel Realities some 20 months ago .
One containing tracks recorded by them in a home studio: Doris Monteiro & Ricardo Jr. – Made in House (2004) as well as this album I am re posting now, recorded live at a celebration of Doris‘ birthday for a selected audience.
.
Several weeks ago, after receiving complaints on this album in particular by someone who claimed to be a personal friend of Doris Monteiro and Ricardo Jr., I removed it from my sites and deleted the download links.
.
A few days later, I found a comment on the Made in House album on my mirror site on WordPress signed with Ricardo Jr., thanking me in Doris‘ and his name for publishing it.
.
I contacted Ricardo Jr. and sent him this live album I had removed so he can listen to it and asked for their explicit permission to re post it.
.
Ricardo Jr. answered that both Doris and he were delighted and enjoyed the music, complimented upon the cover artworks and gave me their blessings to re post it again as well as to post here any unpublished music created by them.
.
So consider both albums as a special gift from Doris Monteiro and Ricardo Jr. to us all.
.
Enjoy Doris Monteiro and Ricardo Jr. performing:

Doris Monteiro – Compacto (1967)

Last night brought some nice surprises.
.
Simon Boutman a friend from Rio de Janeiro finally decided to reopen his site with Brazilian music which he closed in 2008, the UNBREAKABLE MICROGROOVES, a blog which was among my top favorites. The first post he made after reopening his site is a rare album by Lucienne Franco:: Pelos Caminhos do Mundo (1962), which is on my Santa Claus wishlist for a long time and now it is found!
.
Simon was also so kind to send me as a present this rare compacto by Doris Monteiro from 1967 with music that is not on any of her albums and I am sharing it with you now.
.
Enjoy!
