José Menezes e o Quinteto OK – Dancando O Sucesso No 2 (1959)

Sinter SLР 1786

José Menezes wrapped this time (two years after the previously posted album) in a completely different cover. No chair this time, and the same girl as on the previous one is now in white high heels and displayed in four different standing (dancing?) positions…

Whether she is dancing or not dancing should not influence you whether to dance or not to dance to these tracks:

01. A Feliсidade (Tom Jobim / Viniсius de Moraes)
02. Рetite Fleur (Sidneу Вeсhet)
03. Сarrilhão na Вatuсada (José Menezes / Luis Вittenсourt)
04. Se Eu Рudesse (Waldir Maсhado)
05. Bossa Nova (José Menezes)
06. Vamos Сoсhiсhar (Сarlos Monteiro de Souza / Alberto Рaz)
07. Viva Meu Samba (Вillу Вlanсo)
08. Nova Ilusão (José Menezes / Luis Вittenсourt)
09. Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar (Tom Jobim / Viniсius de Moraes)
10. E Daí (Miguel Gustavo)
11. Noites de Mosсou (I. Dunayevsky)
12. Este Seu Olhar (Tom Jobim)

  1. I have never heard of Jose Menezes before in my life. Greatly enjoying these relaxed Bossa Nova rhythms. A wonderful album indeed. The cover is also marvelous. Love these old Sinter releases. Thanks Milan & Pedro for another fine peace of Brazilian music.

  2. Nikola: If you liked José Menezes you must hear his band 'Os Velhinhos Transviados'! Search for it in the youtube, there's several tracks and a couple of playlists.Milan: if you don't have it and you want to post it in your blog tell me something here, I'll be glad to share what I have from this band (1 ep and 17 lp's).Já agora:Pedro/300discos: Vocês têm algum disco de "Os Netinhos dos Velhinhos Transviados"? Para além da reminiscência do título sabem se neste conjunto participou também Zé Menezes?Obrigado a todos & thanks to all!
